If your dog barks every time you try to leave your home you are not alone!
As a social species, many dogs across the globe struggle when left alone. Although many people become aware that their dog is struggling due to barking or whining, there are many other symptoms that your dog may be struggling:
- Excessive panting
- Pacing
- Destructive behaviour
- Trying to escape
- Urinating or defecating in the house when otherwise toilet trained
- Refusing food whilst you are out
The above list is not exhaustive, there are many signs that your dog is upset when home alone.
Your dog is not doing this to punish you, and they are not being bad. They are having a panic attack and are scared. The above behaviours are just symptoms that they are scared.
